Our Vision:
To provide quality Christ-centered spiritual care in long-term care facilities that serve seniors.
Our Mission:
To Recruit volunteers from the church who will adopt a care facility in their community.
To Train volunteers to help meet the spiritual needs of care facility residents by respectfully sharing God’s love and word.
To Support the efforts of Christians and ministries committed to the spiritual development of people living in care facilities.
Statement of Faith:
We believe the Bible to be the inspired, the only infallible, authoritative Word of God, in it’s original text.
We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory.
We believe that for the salvation of lost and sinful people, regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential.
We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life.
We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; they that are saved unto the resurrection of life and they that are lost unto the barrenness of damnation.
We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ.
Our Core Values:
Spiritual Care
“Quality of care” in a long term care facility (nursing home) must include spiritual care.
Respecting Residents
A resident in a long-term care facility is no less valuable to God than any other person. We reject the practice of euthanasia regardless of a person’s, physical, mental or spiritual condition.
Jesus’ Preeminence
We respect all residents and their right to choose their own religious beliefs, but encourage them to examine and grow in their relationship to Jesus Christ.
Real Relationships
Caring relationships are essential to providing quality spiritual care.
Qualifications to provide Christian services
We hold that only born-again Christians are qualified to provide quality, Christ-centered spiritual care. Our board members, staff and the volunteers whom we recruit, train or support should live fruitful lives in Jesus the Christ as exemplified in John 13:34-35, John 15:5-13 and Galatians 5:22-23a.
We believe it is God’s will for us to avoid partnership with anyone who embraces the practices which Jesus or His Apostles spoke against. Such as those mentioned in Mark 7:21-23, 1Corinthians 6:9-10, Galatians 5:19-21 and Colossians 3:5-9
Mission Field
Ministry to long term care facility residents is a valid mission field. We consider the committed-Christian volunteers to be missionaries. We also encourage, mentor & support all like-minded ministries.
Prayer
Prayer is foundational to the success of God Cares Ministry.
