There are many ways you can partner with God Cares Ministry to assure that our lonely neighbors have a friend to point them to Jesus. Some prefer to give a one-time gift, while others want to know about other giving options. Here are some creative ideas to consider:
Become A Ministry Friend – Make an “Acts 20:35” faith commitment of $20.35 per month (or an amount significant to you). This seemingly small amount provides services that will impact an average of 42 care home residents in a given year. Sign up
Annual Family Gift – Rather than exchanging gifts on special occasions, families sometimes choose to pool their funds and give to a charitable cause, investing into the lives of others instead of their own. Providing giant print Bibles, a volunteer training scholarship or just supporting our mission can far outweigh in Kingdom impact over the value of a physical gift for “the person(s) who has everything”.
Memorial / Tribute Gifts – Celebrate or honor a loved one with a gift in memory or in honor of the special people in your life. These can be given on special occasions such as: holidays, birthdays, anniversaries, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, and military or civil service events. Simply include your designation in the “comments” box or on your giving envelope. Such memorial and tribute gifts are recognized in our newsletters.
Workplace Giving / Employer Matching Gifts – Many companies sponsor charitable giving campaigns, or will match their employees’ charitable giving, which doubles your impact in this mission field! God Cares Ministry is eligible for many of these matching gift programs and giving campaigns. Check with your human resource or benefits person on your options.
Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) – This increasingly popular option provides significant tax advantages for those who take an RMD from their IRA. There are specific directives related to the benefits. Talk with your financial advisor to take full advantage of this giving option.
Gifts of Stock – Share God’s blessings by giving a gift of stock. You can make your wise investing reap eternal rewards by donating long-term appreciated securities and receive a terrific tax benefit, too. Transferring shares of stocks, mutual funds, or exchange-traded funds (ETFs) from your brokerage firm to God Cares Ministry is easy and secure. We have a partnership with a Christian public community foundation (In His Steps Foundation) who can advise you in this approach to gifting. Learn more by calling our office or visiting the In His Steps Foundation website.
Non-cash Donations – There are many ways to give and/or bequest non-cash assets that can include significant tax advantages. We have a partnership with In His Steps Foundation who can provide helpful advice in this approach to non-cash gifting.
Planned Giving & Legacy Partnership – Leave a meaningful legacy through a bequest by including God Cares Ministry in your estate planning. This will help nursing home residents find hope and peace far beyond your years in this world. You may also include a loved one as a Legacy Partner by giving a significant donation in their memory. Talk with your estate planner about the various options available regarding creating a Charitable IRA, Gift Annuity, Will or Trust.
Become A Ministry Champion – Help to provide funds by submitting a request to your church’s missions board for monthly, quarterly or annual support. Or consider inviting other small groups who might be willing to support a mission that they deem important to them (i.e. prayer circles, Bible study groups, home churches, etc.). Contact us for details and a presentation packet to help you present and champion this cause for our often-forgotten neighbors. Contact God Cares Ministry
Thrivent Choice Dollars – As a Thrivent member, you can direct your “Choice Dollars” to God Cares Ministry. Other organizations have similar giving programs that provide financial support to your chosen ministry. Check with your financial representative for details.
